At the peak of the Gujarat election campaign schedule, the top leaders and main crowd pullers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi (BJP) and Rahul Gandhi (Congress) have been denied permission by the Ahmedabad Police for holding roadshows in the remaining days of campaigning in Ahmedabad.
Citing the guidelines issued by the Election Commission, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner AK Singh said that all roadshows have been denied permissions as per the guidelines, as it may create law and order situation in the area. However, permission has been given for holding organised public meetings. Singh also shared that if any roadshow is held, the police will take strict action.

In yet another development and a clear violation of the Election Commission directives, a fake exit poll has been doing the rounds on digital media, claiming a clean sweep by the Congress in the Gujarat assembly elections.
As per the guidelines issued by the EC, no exit poll can be released prior to the end of the second phase of voting on December 14.
What action the government agencies and the Election Commission take on these issues is important as there are still two more days for the second phase of elections and strict action will deter others from violating the EC guidelines.
